The boys and girls bowling teams have gotten off to a solid start this season with the girls being undefeated and the boys winning all but one match thus far. In past seasons, both teams have exuded this same excellence. The girls team, for example, has made it to state for the past 5 out of 6 years and are “expected to make it to state again, if we show up and do what we’re supposed to,” according to senior Kelly Keen, a four year member of the team. She went on to mention proudly how the girls team won regionals her sophomore year, “which was huge.” Keen credits the team’s success to positivity, drive and hard work. “We try everything we can,” she finished.

The boys team on the other hand has come second in conference for the past two seasons. This was a “really big deal,” according to senior boys team member Christian Bliss. In regards to the outlook of the team this year, “the potential is there [to do well] but we [upperclassmen] need to whip [junior members of the team] into shape,” Bliss informed. He believes that the team's biggest strength lies in their consistency year to year, “there’d always be that one other team that would be really good but then the next year they’d fall off the train.”

Both Keen and Bliss had thoughts about the future of their teams, “I haven’t heard much prospects yet” Bliss commented. Keen however took a cyclical outlook on things, remembering when her sister was on the team five years ago and how the outlook was unknown, but then “more just keep on coming.” It would seem as if the rich history of the bowling team plays a vital role in keeping them fueled for success.
