Winter Weather Raising Ski Team Concerns

While Northview has had its share of “Snow” Days this year, the ski team is not necessarily benefiting from them. So far, it’s been a bit of a mild winter with a limited amount of snow. As a result, they have only had two optional open meets. For captain senior Sydney Jackson, this season has been quite disappointing. “It’s my last year and the weather is so bad,” Jackson said.  Not only that, but the weather pushes all the races and even practices back which leads to the team having less preparation for regionals and state. This season has been quite hard on the team. “Most of them have had very limited training time at all and can’t rely on skills developed in previous years,” said junior, David Tay. The odd winter weather has impacted all of the members of the ski team poorly. Their hope is that the snow will pick up towards the end of the season so that they may make up their races.
