Northviews’ Women’s Chorus has been hard at work this semester, and it is all for December 17th! That Saturday night at 7:30 pm, they will perform at the Holiday Concert at the Northview High School performing arts center. This will showcase many performances from the vocal music department, which will include feature solos, select groups, and the individual choirs singing their songs. Judy Pellerito, the teacher of these choirs, has prepared her students for excellence by countless hours of practicing in their sectionals, and then grouping them all together to make the magic happen.

Women’s Chorus is a program that allows young women to show off their talents, and blossom their personalities as well. Junior, Savannah Scheid, has been in the Women’s Chorus for the past two years and believes it has greatly impacted her high school career by helping her overcome her shyness and fear of public singing. “It’s made me more confident, and I’ve made new friends too,” Scheid said. Some of her favorite moments from being in Women’s Chorus are simple things, like going to the stairwells to belt their hearts out- a cappella style.

Experiences like these enrich high school years and create memories that last a lifetime. Attending the Holiday Concert that students like Savannah, and many more, have worked so hard on, would light up their world! It makes all of their hard work worth it. That’s not their only concert this year, as there are four more throughout the school year that they will begin preparing for. However, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit, than to listen to the festive songs the choir has to sing!
