On January 19th twenty-four models walked the runway for Caleb Wells’ fashion show. Wells is a Northview High School senior who had been planning his show for eight long-lasting months. He poured blood, sweat, and tears into designing each unique garment and the layout of the show.

“What I loved about Caleb’s fashion show was the variety of styles of each and every dress,” said Ellie Briggs, a junior who donated her time to being one of the models. Every one of Wells’ dresses was one-of-a-kind, with a special color, cutout, and pattern. Briggs mentioned that she found a dress of Wells’ that she would buy in the store.

The time spent preparing the dresses was all on Wells’ own time. He didn’t have a helping hand during the process of designing or creating the apparel. Northview provided their auditorium and staff members for the show, but Wells and his family purchased the supplies that were needed to construct each individual dress.

Ellie Briggs commented that Caleb is extremely passionate about fashion and “such a great artist.” The passion must have shown through his designs because Wells was granted a $16,000 scholarship to Kendall College of Art and Design from his work.

Fashion design is not just a hobby for Wells, but a career that he has wanted to pursue since sixth grade. After high school Wells pictures himself enrolling in Central Saint Martins (CSM) in London for fashion. According to Ceoworld Magazine and Fashionista.com, CSM is the top fashion school in the world. After college Wells wants to own his own business or be the head designer at the finest fashion house. Whatever pattern Wells’ life takes, he’s sure to turn it into something beautiful.
